South Africa exports reefer cargo worldwide from the reefer terminals in the ports of Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town.

Commodities shipped include meat, poultry, fish and fruit.

The requirements and procedures relating to these shipments are strictly controlled by the PPECB (Perishable Products Export Control Board) and great care is required to ensure that the cargoes are well treated, regardless of whether they are being containerised or sent on a conventional vessel.

Mainport is well versed in the requirements relating to both conventional and containerised shipments and will take great care in ensuring that these delicate commodities are well handled.
